Fine Tune Your Coaching Skills

Remember when you first learned your coaching skills—the thrill of helping others without needing to tell them what to do? How fun, and yet challenging, it was to learn and start using the coaching skills?

Now you’ve been coaching for a while, and you want to level up. We are here to help you do just that.

Mentor Coaching is for you if:

You’ve been coaching for a while and you want to improve.

You want help seeing the blind spots you might have.

You’d like your coaching to be more powerful in others’ lives.

You are a learner who wants to keep growing.

You often get stuck in certain aspects of your coaching conversations.

You need mentor coaching for your ICF certification.

See Beyond offers mentor coaching for those pursuing their ACC or PCC credential with the ICF. We also offer mentor coaching to those who want to sharpen their coaching skills. The ICF requires 10 hours of mentor coaching over the course of at least three months. Up to seven of those hours may be in a group setting of up to 10 people, and at least three of the hours must be individual. Our process meets the ICF requirements for mentor coaching. It does not provide ICF training credit.

Individual Sessions

Before individual sessions, you will need to record a real coaching session with a regular client, with their permission. Ideally, those sessions would be between 20 and 40 minutes long.

We'll use the one-on-one time to listen to the recording together, stopping to talk about what you are hearing in your coaching. We’ll look for what is going well and what you'd like to improve, etc. Sometimes, we may stop and give you a bit of additional training in a specific area.

Group Sessions

If you choose a group package, you’ll join 3-9 other coaches for interactive learning. Many have shared how thankful they were for the group times, because they learned so much. During the group sessions, we'll have some pre-selected topics based on what we learn from your mentor coaching information form, as well as areas we've seen to be consistent problems for coaches.

We’ll do some teaching, and we'll have discussions on that day’s topic. Each session will include practice coaching and feedback.

Step 1

Let us know you are interested by filling out a mentor coaching information form.

Step 2

Decide if you’d like an individual or group package.

Step 3

Work with your mentor coach (and cohort for group packages) to decide when to meet.

What others have said about See Beyond’s Mentor Coaching

This cohort was more engaging, thorough, and dynamic than I could have imagined. I loved learning with everyone, including our mentor coach, who embraces learning and hasn’t ‘arrived,’ which is so refreshing. She facilitated the group with lots of opportunities for different learning styles to engage. She kept bringing the learning back to what we wanted/needed to get out of the sessions.

Our mentor coaching group sessions included interesting and varied exercises that not only built confidence, but clarified what was required and how to go about mastering it.
— Mentor Coaching Client
I wanted to pass the ICF ACC credentialing process and be more confident in my skills. I was concerned it was going to hurt, and I might have to unlearn some things. It was excellent. I learned so much about myself and how to get better at coaching. I am so much more confident about my skills and now have my credential too.
