Connect, listen, laugh, relate!

Traveling, experiencing new environments, meeting new people, and reconnecting with old friends are common among most TCKs. Join us as we explore how to do this together online.

In a time of social distancing, this retreat aims to bring together TCKs in the North Africa and Sahel regions for an opportunity to interact with one another. You will share your story as a group with a certified debriefer. You will get to connect with other TCKs in similar situations, and, of course, we aim to have lots of fun!

Facilitators

Josef currently lives in Sweden. He grew up in CAR (Central African Republic) and spent most of his formative years there. Josef is married to Kensey, a wonderful woman from Alabama. Over the past decade, he has been involved in summer camps for TCKs, both planning and teaching, and in 2018-2020, he lived in Tunisia, where he spent a lot of time investing in TCKs. He enjoys pretty much every board game (with the exception of Monopoly), beach volleyball and frisbee, building snowmen and gingerbread cookie houses, and being in nature.

John is married to Kelsey and lives in a small town in Morocco. Though born in the United States, John spent fourteen of his growing up years in Guatemala. He has worked with youth groups in the U.S. and Morocco. His hobbies include playing strategy board games, running/playing soccer, and reading. One of his most embarrassing moments was spilling a full can of pink paint all over his high school’s gym floor.

Kelsey is married to John and has lived in Morocco for about five and a half years. She grew up in the United States and has worked in a variety of settings with children and youth over the past ten years. Some of her favorite foods include cheesy, stuffed-crust pizza, peanut butter, and mixed berry pie. Kelsey is looking forward to this event, where youth around North Africa can connect with each other!
