More about dr Maureen

Maureen Neihart, Psy.D. is a licensed child psychologist with more than thirty years’ experience working with children and their families. She and her husband moved to Tunisia in 2017 where she has found she loves both the Tunisians around her and her church community. She has also lived in France and Singapore. She grew up in Minnesota, but considers Montana home in the U. S.  

Maureen has had many wild adventures. She has been bitten by a black adder in Sweden; performed in a musical on Broadway; and was the first American woman to earn a varsity letter in men’s collegiate wrestling in1975. She fantasizes about living a literary life. Her one act comedy, The Court Martial of George Armstrong Custer, was produced and filmed for local television in 2000.

Maureen Neihart, is the author or editor of five books, including, The Social and Emotional Development of Gifted Children: What do we Know, which is a widely used textbook in graduate programs of gifted education. She has served on the editorial or review boards of several education or psychology journals and is a former member of the Board of Directors for the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC).

Maureen served for ten years as Associate Professor of Psychology at the National Institute of Education (NIE) at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. There, she taught and supervised trainee psychologists, counselors and teachers. She also chaired Singapore’s national Register of Psychologists.

Prior to moving overseas, Maureen worked as a child psychologist in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings in Montana, and provided case consultation and training to school districts, agencies and institutions nationally and internationally.

We are so pleased to offer the community this special opportunity with Dr. Maureen before she moves back to the U.S. this summer.  We are hoping all those who would benefit can take advantage of this special occasion to strengthen your parenting.

Standard: $150/90 minute consultation

Non-Profit: $100/90 minute consultation
